Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor to Launch Digital Dún Laoghaire Action Plan
We’re delighted to announce that Minister of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Digital Dún Laoghaire Patron, Mary Mitchell O’Connor will be at our next Meetup on Wednesday, 12th April to officially launch the Digital Dún Laoghaire Action Plan.
The Digital Dún Laoghaire Action Plan outlines our key goals for turning our town into Ireland’s next Digital Centre; that will create jobs and encourage entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation.

Digital Dún Laoghaire is an initiative of the Dún Laoghaire Business Improvement District and supported by key stakeholders in the town. The Initiative was launched by Minister of Jobs Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor on the 30th September 2016. Our goal is to build a strong cluster of digital companies in Dún Laoghaire for the innovation and urban regeneration that this will provide. It is a local project with national significance as we will seek to share the blueprint of our initiative as it progresses with towns across the country.
Our Chairman is Anthony Quigley, Co Founder & Director of the Digital Marketing Institute. The Digital Marketing Institute, located in Dún Laoghaire, is a hugely successful organisation providing course certification to over 15,000 graduates in 80 countries around the world.
Eoin Costello is our project leader for the Digital Dun Laoghaire initiative. Eoin is the former CEO of Startup Ireland, national director of the Startup Gathering 2015 and former CEO of Novara Technology Ltd.
DLR Summit is taking place the 8th June 2017 in the Pavilion Theatre in the heart of Dun Laoghaireand. DLR Summit is a headline conference on the topic of Digital Transformation. The conference brings together business owners, entrepreneurs, innovators, creators and big thinkers for an amazing day of talks and networking. Main topics include Social Media, Data & Analytics, Cloud Computing and Digital Marketing.
In order to achieve our goal, the first step is to start bringing the community of digital/tech entrepreneurs together on a monthly basis through a Digital Dún Laoghaire Meetup. At this Meetup we discuss varies topics in an informal talk by guest speakers followed by Q&A. This event takes place in Starbucks (besides Nando’s), Marine Road from 7.30am – 8.45am. Upcoming events are announced through our Social Media channels, Meetup page or Eventbrite.

Digital Dún Laoghaire Coder Dojo is a programming club for young people. At the Dojo, young people learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games, and explore technology in an informal and creative environment. We meet Monday nights from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Starbucks in Dun Laoghaire (Beside Nandos).
Digital Dún Laoghaire Steering Group
The Digital Dún Laoghaire steering group meets on a regular basis and comprises of representatives from Dún Laoghaire Business Improvement District, Dún Laoghair-Rathdown Local Enterprise Offices, local tech companies and other key stakeholders.
