Dún Laoghaire Historical Society Exhibition
May 1 8:00 am – May 31 5:00 pm
Venue: LexIcon Library
The exhibition will focus on the building of the Harbour including the wages, conditions and names of the construction workers. There will be a timeline from 1817 to the present outlining a variety of important events in the Harbours history How the sinking of the ‘Prince of Wales’ and the ‘Rochdale’ influenced the building of a refuge Harbour.
The exhibition will be illustrated by a wealth of period maps, photographs and prints.
National Maritime Museum Exhibition – 200 Years of Dún Laoghaire Harbour History

As part of the Bicentenary Celebrations the National Maritime Museum have curated a commemorative exhibition on the Construction of Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Charts and Maps on display at the Maritime Museum.
Dublin Painting & Sketch Club Exhibition

The Dublin Painting & Sketching Club will have their 139th Annual Exhibition from 7th to 20th May at Count Hall Marine Road.
On learning that the foundation stone of the Harbour was laid in May 1817 the group decided to incorporate a Maritime theme into its exhibition. Club members are hugely enthused upon the discovery that a group of Club members sailed on a yacht called Iris to paint all areas of Dublin Bay, during the 1880s and 90s .
To commemorate the Dun Laoghaire Harbour Bicentenary Heritage Tours will be open to the public. Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Heritage Department have created a programme of tours commencing in April with Spring tours and running until Summer tours August 2017 . The tours are a range of walking tours guided by local Historians highlighting various aspects of the area and this year in particular the Harbour.
Contemporary Harbour Art Exhibition

An exhibition of local contemporary art including works from local artist Peter Pearson.
