Only once every seven years does Valentines fall on a Saturday and here we are to enjoy it in 2015! So there’s no excuse not to get out there and make the most of Dun Laoghaire town and all we have to offer. Check out our full listing of things to do and here’s some suggestions for the day that’s in it…

  • Walk the length of the town.
You may have walked the pier but have you ever walked the full length of Dun Laoghaire main street? Now’s your chance to check it all out. Take in the Peoples Park, Breakfast in Poppies, Pop into the Shopping Centre, Pick up a Valentines Gift at one of our many jewelers. Why not go on a journey of discovery down the side streets around the town – you’ll find artisan bakeries, florists, book shops, coffee shops, local art and so much more…..
  • Eat  Well
Have you tried Kitchen62 – just opened this Dec and getting rave reviews. What about the long-established BitsandPizzas on Patrick St. Or Gourmet Burger (10% off all bills between 12pm and 5pm), the Hen House or ItsaBagel on the sea front? Feast in whatever fashion you prefer – its all here in the town.
  • Sweet Treats
We’re so lucky in the town to have probably the best ice-cream parlours in the country – really we should think of ourselves as a Centre of Excellence for ice cream and if you don’t believe us then you haven’t had a delicious, traditional Teddys 99 cone recently. And right down the other end of the coast road is Scumdiddlys  – you must have heard the buzz around the town and further afield on this one. Don’t forget to pop into the Shopping Centre for Mauds Ice cream too – Hmmmmm
  • Beautify Yourself, Pamper Your Valentine
There are so many Beauty Salons, Pilates Studios, Nail Bars, Hair Dressers and clothes shops in the town that you really will be spoilt for choice! Use the business search to find a great local salon you can enjoy – and why limit yuorself to Valentines for a bit of pampering; you’re worth it every week….
  • Movie at the Theatre?
Catch a film at The Pavilion Theatre, Breakfast at Tiffany’s (4pm) and Cinema Paraidiso (8pm) – weather-free entertainment and as you know well; all sweets eaten watching a film are calorie-free(!)
